The Lamb Center is a daytime drop-in center for the poor and homeless in central Fairfax County, Virginia. The work of The Lamb Center is made possible by a partnership of local congregations that not only provides for the immediate physical needs of the center's guests, but provides a Christ-centered spiritual reference that can set them free to a new life. The core mission of The Lamb Center is to end homelessness by transforming lives through Christian spirituality, counseling, and service. To carry out this mission, The Lamb Center focuses on proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and action to the poor, hurting, and homeless people in our community. The Lamb Center welcomes many hundreds of guests each month, and provides Bible studies, life counseling sessions and AA meetings in addition to employment counseling.
How to Get Involved
- Pray for a new location for The Lamb Center. Pray for the resources to continue providing for the poor and poor in spirit in Fairfax County. Pray for guests that struggle with addictions and mental illness. Pray for wisdom and discernment for The Lamb Center staff and volunteers.
- Volunteer. The Lamb Center has many needs that allow MPC to be involved in a tangible way with a mercy ministry in our very own neighborhood. MPC serves food, does laundry and/or engages in Bible studies with The Lamb Center Guests every third Saturday morning of the month for 4.5 hours. There is an ongoing need for small groups to commit to serving at The Lamb Center in this way for two consecutive months. To volunteer or to discuss other opportunities to use your time and talents, please contact MPC’s liaison to The Lamb Center, Nancy Stone at email@example.com
- Donate. The Lamb Center is in continuous need of various supplies including personal care, laundry, paper and plastic food serving products and maintenance supplies. Please visit the Lamb Center's website for a complete and up-to-date list.
